for the Dothan Wiregrass Art League includes a rotating header that shows featured works of art, slideshows and an extensive portfolio where each artist has their own page to display their work.
Situation
The Dothan Wiregrass Art League needed a website for their organization to promote the organization and to display their members work.
Challenge
As with most clients who are getting their first website, we would be starting with a blank slant and a minimal amount of content. In addition, most members did not have photo images of their work and some did not even have a computer!
Solution
We registered the site, setup the website, installed the
Joomla
CMS application, selected a GNU/GPL template which we began modifying. One of the problem was they did not have a good logo so we took a drawing off of their newsletter, scanned and modified it in several different sizes, styles, perspectives and colors. We provided this to the Board and they selected the one they liked. Using this, we changed the color scheme, created a rotating banner to show featured works of art, added a portfolio component to display members works, added a calendar and included rotating slideshows. As there was virtually no images of works, we went to one of their shows where most of the members were displaying their work and took over 300 photographs which we enhanced to begin building the portfolion. Since that time many members have provided additional images which was enhanced, color corrected and added a background with their information.Final
This is the final image we created for this painting by Beverly Cox. Notice as everything as been squared up without losing perspective and the complimentary sidebar of information on the work of art.

This is the original image that was sent to us for this painting. Notice how the photograph was taken at an angle but at least all of the frame was included was no filler was needed.
Results
Dothan Wiregrass Art League has a functioning website that meets their needs in promoting their services to individuals in the Wiregrass Area. Webbering continues to maintain the site in a timely manner with updated content as supplied by Dothan Wiregrass Art League.
