Final design for Jody Singleton campaign.
Jody Singleton has been an individual I have admired for many years as he has grown from the young man I knew while helping out on the football team to working with him on another business website as well as watching his work as a City of Headland Councilman.
Situation
When he approached me to create a website for his campaign, I was totally in as a supporter and a campaign consultant as far as his website is concerned.
Challenge
This is Jody's first campaign for state office in Alabama and he needed a site that would appeal to the voters of District 85. The look needed to have ease of navigation, ability to change on the fly and be 'down home' in look since a 'slick commercialize' site would not suite Jody's personality.
Solution
Initially, we worked on a red, white and blue style but, based on the recommendation of his campaign coordinator Scott Stone with Scott Stone & Company, LLC in Birmingham, we created a template with a dark green and light gray color scheme. Working closely with Jody and Scott, we added a frontpage slideshow to highlight upcoming events, an image rotator with some photos from District 85, added bulleted information on the sidebar about Jody and Jody's experience. In addition, custom video's were created from photo's as well as embedded video's of Jody campaigning.
We included content pages for events with a full-featured calendar, issues page to present Jody's position on various issues concerning District 85, an about page to tell voters more about Jody, a support page where individuals and groups can make a donation or volunteer to assist Jody in his campaign and a contact page to communicate with Jody.
Results
Jody has a website that gives him a platform to tell people more about his positions, his views on issues affecting District 85, the support he has garnered from various local as well as state organizations and his biography of public works. It is an honor to assist an individual of Jody's character in his endeavor to represent the people of District 85 in Alabama's House of Representative.
